timeless style – the evergreen edit

23th October 2023

In case you hadn’t noticed, evergreens play a significant role in my life these days… So much so that I named my debut book after them!

With that in mind, this week I thought I’d put together an Evergreen-inspired style edit, complete with beautiful clothing and accessories inspired by the timeless shade.

Amongst other things, one of evergreens’ strengths is that they provide colour year round so you can rest assured that – depending on the weather – you can wear these year round, too.

Why so? Because nature’s colour palette never grows old…

House of Bruar

This dress has become one of my go-to staples ever since I bought it September 2022. It’s tailored to perfection and so comfortable on – the perfect ‘every day dress’ for Autumn/Winter.

House of Bruar

Just looking at this cable knit from House of Bruar makes me think of countryside walks with friends followed by a roast dinner at home featuring Ali’s famous roast potatoes! With that in mind, *adds to basket immediately…!*

At under £20, this shirt dress is the bargain on the list! I ordered this dress back in February and love it just as much today as I did back then. The beauty of the style means that I can pair it with tights, a jacket and boots throughout winter, then strip back the layers and pair it with bare legs and flats come Spring.

I featured this suit in my ‘event dressing’ blog because if you’re a suit wearer, this shade is spot on. Available in an array of seasonal shades, H&M have a bestseller on their hands here I think!

Me + Em

I’ve been living in this jacket (pictured in the main image) for the past few weeks and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! Perfect for all seasons, it’s an all rounder in my eyes. Stunning shape. Stunning colour. Stunning quality.

You know I love a merino wool base layer so this evergreen number from Cos went straight on the list!

Holland Cooper

You can’t go wrong with a fairisle knit at this time of year so this Holland Cooper jumper in various shades of green stood out from the crowd. It’s a stunning alternative to the traditional red/cream versions that we tend to see at this time of year so if you’re looking for something a bit more unique, look no further.

Suzannah London

I shared this two piece from Suzannah London in my guide to event dressing that I shared last week but I had to include it in this list too because, well, just look at it! It’s one of those outfits that makes me feel so special. I’m already looking forward to wearing it again.

Though I tend to save velvet for Winter, not Autumn, this dress from Jigsaw had to make the cut! Perfect for special occasions or evenings out once the clocks have changed, just looking at it makes me excited about the weeks ahead!

N. Peal

My N. Peal Cashmere Scarf is never far away come winter so I can certainly vouch for the idea that you won’t want to take this off when it arrives! It’s one of those ‘little moments of luxury’ items that I look forward to each day when the weather turns. Though I own the camel shade, I’m very tempted by this one too…!

I purchased a dark olive cashmere alternative from Amazon last Winter should you be on the hunt for a more affordable option.

This week, I focused on H&M and found so many beautiful pieces that will never tire.
