I drink so much water throughout the day that the relocation of my desk to the toilet seems more and more appealing with every sip, but every now and then its nice to switch it up a little. I’m no stranger to lemon water, I used to guzzle the stuff when my breakouts were in full force but there are numerous other benefits.
Bottle a boost
Lemons contain a high level of vitamin C yet I certainly wouldn’t want to eat one so squeezing one in to an ice cold bottle of water seems to be the best option. Vitamin C levels are the first things to go when your under stress so have a bottle in the fridge for when you return after a hard days graft.
Squeeze lemons not spots
As I mentioned above, I used to drink lemon water when my skin was at its worst. This is because lemon juice detoxifies your blood which helps maintain a radiant complexion. Oh and did I mention it’s also anti aging? I’m about the be the wrong side of 25 so I’m downing a bottle as I type this.
Lemons contain something called pectin fiber which apparently kicks hunger cravings butt.
Drinking lemon water on a regular basis decreases the acidity in your body and removes uric acid in your joints, the main cause of inflammation which is great for anyone on a grueling workout plan.
These are just a few of the major benefits of lemon water whether you’re into fitness or not, so you can imagine how welcomed this CitrusZinger
was when it landed on my desk last week. I drink from a 2ltr Evian bottle most days and it takes great precision to squeeze a lemon through the tiny spout, especially if your anything like me and usually end up with more in your eye than in the bottle. With the CitrusZinger
you just turn it upside down, twist of the plastic cap and squeeze the lemon straight into the bottle. I’ve used mine non stop this week and its convenience never fails to amaze me. What I would like to see however is a less “packed lunch” design, as not only a fitness blogger but also fashion, walking around with this in my hand means it automatically qualifies as an accessory and green just isn’t my colour.
