sunrise in skiathos

19th May 2015
One of the most magical times of day for me, wherever I am, is sunrise. I like to experience all the places, where I’m lucky enough to visit, during the first moments of the day. I feel like I’ve fully experienced the destination having done this. I’m inclined think it stems from the years my family and I spent celebrating Christmas in Florida, due to the jet lag I’d be up before the sun, so whilst everyone else slept I experienced those moments as if they were only for me, my own personal sunrise. Because our stunning hotel was situated on it’s own private beach I could stroll down with ease and perch myself upon the beds listening to the tiny waves as they gently touched the shoreline. It’s the most peaceful time of day, and a time where I’m able to gain control of the frantic thoughts in my head about work and life and just put them to one side. Allowing my thoughts and breathing to calm and move with the rhythm of the waves and live only in that moment. My gosh, it is wonderful. With everyone getting ready to embark on their Summer holiday’s, give yourself a morning to do this wherever you’re heading and I promise you will return home with a new sense of calm. It’s worth so much and wont push you over your baggage allowance either!   Images shot @ The Skiathos Princess Hotel by Carly Rowena on the Olympus E-PL7 and 45mm Lens   Shop The Post [show_shopthepost_widget id=”739041″]
