British racing. British tennis. Patriotic? Who me?! Strawberries and cream. Tennis whites. Game, set, match - let’s go! Wheat fields sway - harvest pending - sun-kissed from above. Homegrown salad. Herbs too. Handpicked, washed and ready. Heatwave season. Bikinis on. Accessorise with SPF and a smile. Iced coffees. Ice cubes. Ice cream saves the day. Seaside trips. Sandals off. Golden sands skirt the shores. Lazy Sundays lost to sunshine, good book in hand, of course. Picnic blankets. Berries ripe. Church bells ring from afar. BBQ season. Grab a plate. Gather round. Summer’s served.
As I mentioned on Instagram a few days ago, life feels a bit strange at the moment. Like something is about to change and I can’t quite put my finger on what it is. It’s why I’m writing it here and saying it out loud because when it happens, I want proof (for myself) that I felt it before it materialised.
Have you ever felt that way?
Like an excited energy is bubbling away under the surface below, that makes you feel partly nervous and partly giddy with anticipation for what lies ahead? It’s there when I wake up. It’s there when I close my eyes at night. And it’s there at random intervals throughout the day when I’m left alone to daydream and sit with my thoughts.
I could try and fight it or spend hours trying to figure it out. That’s certainly what I would have done once upon a time!
Instead though, as we open chapter seven and welcome July in, I’ve decided to acknowledge its presence, let it be and see what unfolds in the weeks ahead.
With that in mind, if you want to know what my plans involve this month, along with drinking copious amounts of iced coffee and revelling in the season of summer sport that lies ahead, I will be sitting with this feeling and exploring where it leads.
I wish you and yours a magical month ahead.
