finishing touches | a marble beauty tray for £12

13th January 2016
Faux marble is everywhere at the moment and it’s a great way to add an on-trend update to any tired home furniture whilst also adding a little luxe edge to your interior. After trying my hand at a little DIY faux marble myself it I realised that it wasn’t necessarily just the marble effect that I like. It’s how strong it is, its cold, heavy and substantial. On one of my recent homeware expeditions I found myself in the kitchen department of Dunelm Mill, don’t ask me why, I have absolutely no idea what anything does, but sometimes I just do it for comedy value. But regardless I was there and I stumbled across this solid marble chopping board for £12, the perfect centre piece for my Office come beauty room. Which actually, once you have taken the cost of the sticky back plastic and the canvas board into consideration, worked out to be cheaper than the DIY option. But what I love about this simplistic cooking essential is it can be used anywhere, a dressing table, a desk, as a tray or even as a notice board and it just looks so clean, effortless and luxurious. And maybe I should mention it also comes in a Heart shape for £6.
