defy the sun in sweden

15th June 2015
Early Saturday morning, Ali and I jetted off to Mallorca for what was to be our first holiday in 2 years. It was a bit of a last minute thing but we both felt we’d earned it. However, hours before we were due to fly we got the news that we’d both be heading out to Sweden the following week to take part in the Sunset Relay which is a race organised by Garnier and The European Cancer League aimed at defying the sun and raising awareness around protecting your skin against the suns rays. Ali and I will be taking part in order to put Garnier’s newest product as part of their Ambre Solaire range, UV Sport, to the ultimate test. Which meant that our holiday would be spent fitting in as much training as possible in order for us to give the race our best shot. I knew I shouldn’t have eaten all that Raw Banoffee pie when we were on Osea Island last week. Protecting my skin from the sun has only really become a priority for me in the last year, hitting 27 was quite a wake up call, I mean I love my leather handbags, but that doesn’t mean I want to look like one so I stopped with the factor “sweet F-A” and started opting for something with some real protection especially during the warmer months and Holiday season. The range covers anything from kids, sensitive skins, after suns and now sport too which means theres a product for everyone no matter what type of holiday you’re heading out on this year. Due to previous skin treatments my skin can be super sensitive so the Sensitive Advanced spray is currently what I find myself reaching for my mornings whilst UV Sport has me covered during morning […]

Due to previous skin treatments my skin can be super sensitive so the Sensitive Advanced spray is currently what I find myself reaching for my mornings whilst UV Sport has me covered during morning walks or runs along the beautiful beaches here in Mallorca. You will be able to follow our journey from training to taking part in the race by following the hashtag #SunsetRelay so come and get involved.

Hair @imy_hair for @greatlengthsuk
I’m in my golden era. Ad having nurtured my hair back to health with professional haircare, supplements and hair oiling I knew I didn’t have enough time to grow my hair back for Summer so the wonderful team at @greatlengthsuk enlisted @imy_hair to transform me into my Summer style for the next few months. For those that don’t know Great Lengths has always been my extension brand of choice, about 15 years ago I had them for 2.5years to help me grow my hair back after I experimented a little too much with my style. My hair grew back healthy and strong and I didn’t have to wish the time away as the extensions gave me the extra few inches I needed without damaging my hair. I will have these removed at the end of the summer to continue to grow my hair back with regular Diamond cuts.
