Trying to plan my wardrobe at this time of year often causes confusion. On the one hand, September is fast approaching and I want to lean in to Autumn. On the other hand, it’s 32 degrees outside and I’m sweating from sunrise.
Which is why I find myself gravitating towards shirt dresses at this time of year – the one style of dress that straddles both seasons seamlessly.
With that in mind, I’ve highlighted 5 of my favourite shirt dresses below.
In my opinion, you can throw any of these on in the last few weeks of summer and accessorise each with bare legs and sandals. As Autumn elbows its way in however, black tights, boots and blazers will work just as well too…
& Other Stories
This dress oozes laid back fashion at its finest. From its flattering length to its ‘just the right amount of volume’ fit, it nails the brief effortlessly.
I can’t help but feel like I can run the world when I put this dress on! It’s the kind of dress that takes you from important work meetings to wine dates with friends with ease… and makes you feel fabulous whilst doing so!
This oversized cotton-poplin number from Patou is the epitome of white shirt dress chic. Subtly sexy and tailored to perfection, though I know it will look gorgeous with my Hermes Oran’s now, it will look even better with black tights and knee high boots in a matter of months!
If you’re looking for a white shirt dress that will keep you cool in a heatwave, look smart in the office and/or work with a tailored blazer and boots as the weather turns, look no further. Mango has you covered.
When in doubt, browse H&M! From its belted waist to its classic off-white shade, this shirt dress ticks all the boxes. The fact that it’s under £20 too? Even better.
