my festive make-up look

4th December 2016
If you haven’t gathered by all of the festive themed blog posts, or by all of my tweets, snapchats and other festive social media discussions, I am rather excited about Christmas. As with every year to be honest. Everything becomes just a little more fun, you get to decorate your home with pretty lights and delicious festive scents, Christmas jumpers, snuggly coats and winter warmers are all out in full force when it comes to our personal style, and of course, we can’t forget our make-up. I’ve teamed up with Rimmel London to show you my signature drug-store festive makeup look for the festivities using some of their most loved products by myself and bloggers the world over. Prepare for beautiful bold brows, barely there eyes and a bright festive lip not to mention when you buy 3 for 2 on Rimmel London Products at Boots you receive a beautiful rose gold makeup bag and Brow This Way sculpting kit.           [lem_title]THE BASE[/lem_title] The base of my make-up for this look is kept simple using the Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation, an Oval brush from Iconic and my holy grail concealer from the Match perfection range in shade Soft beige. Using the oval brush I apply 2 or 3 pumps of the foundation to my face and blend until the foundation is smooth and perfected, blending seamlessly with my current fake tan of choice St Tropez. For my under eyes I apply the Match Perfection concealer in a triangular shape and blend using a beauty blender. Shade Soft beige leaves my under eyes bright and wide awake ready for the rest of my make – up application.                   [lem_title]THE BROWS[/lem_title] I never knew how important my eyebrows would […]

[lem_title]THE BASE[/lem_title]

The base of my make-up for this look is kept simple using the Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation, an Oval brush from Iconic and my holy grail concealer from the Match perfection range in shade Soft beige.

[lem_title]THE BROWS[/lem_title]

I never knew how important my eyebrows would be, if I had, I would never have over plucked them in my teens. An error many of us made and many still pay the price now. Although my brows are already thick and full, there are areas that are sparse and unruly, therefore it takes special care and attention to create the natural full brow of my signature festive make up look.

Using the BROW THIS WAY sculpting kit I start by outlining, very subtly, the shape of my brow. I like to stick to the natural shape and follow the line of the hair. Once the outline is perfected and matched as well as possible on both brows, remember, sisters not twins otherwise you will be there all day. Using the angled brush I then apply the product in the direction of the hair growth to mimic the natural hair, this ensures brows look totally natural. To create the bold look I then lightly dust the powder over the brows to add shading in between the hair strokes, much like they do in Semi permanent make-up.

The inner corners of my brows are always sporadic and unruly, much like my natural brows. Hairs tend to sprout out in many directions giving a natural and unkept look seen on runways the world over.

To tidy up the brows and perfect the edges I often go back in with the Match Perfection concealer to really carve out the shape of the brow.

To hold my brows in place I use the BROW THIS WAY styling gel in Clear to provide hold to the natural hairs of the brows whilst also finishing off and setting the over all bold look.

For the all important brow highlight I use the BROW THIS WAY highlighting pencil which adds a strobe of light to the brow bone which is utterly stunning.

[lem_title]BARELY THERE EYES[/lem_title]

For the eyes we are going for barely there fresh wide away eyes starting off with the MAGNIF’EYES palette using shade 1 to mattify  the eyelids whilst giving a subtle peachy glow.

Then simply curl the lashes to open up the eyes and apply as many layers as possible of the SCANDALEYES RELOADED MASCARA in extreme black, ensuring the lashes always look natural.

[lem_title]DEWY HIGHLIGHT[/lem_title]

For a subtle and natural dewy highlight I use shade 1 and 3 from the Sculpting palette designed by Kate Moss. Shade 3 gives a gentle flush of colour to the apples of the cheeks whilst shade 1 brightens and illuminates the skin to create radiance than dances in the festive lights.

[lem_title]RED LIPS TO FINISH[/lem_title]

What festive look is complete without a striking red lip and shade 52 Idol Red is absolutely perfect to offset the barely there eyes and big bold brows. Pop in your clutch bag and reapply when needed for a vibrant festive pout.
