If I had to pick which I don’t so this really is irrelevant between Summer beauty collections and Christmas, I would always choose Summer. Perhaps it’s because I’m more of a glow than a sparkle kind of gal but when the first signs of Summer begin to show I’m stalking the online beauty pages for the smallest peek at whats to come. So far I am yet to be disappointed.
One of the most eagerly awaited collection for me, is always from By Terry. I’ll never forget my first encounter with their Limited edition Sun Designer palette in Light & Tan vibes three years ago; the highlight within this palette still remains one of my all time favourites and I live for the day where they bring it out as a compact of its own. For now though, it’s back as part of the 2018 edition Sun Designer Palette and it’s as buttery soft and pigmented as always if I could bathe in it, I totally would.
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned before possibly only a few hundred thousand times but I spent my Summers in between University living in Ibiza. Before I lived there, I had no idea of the beauty this tiny Balearic island possessed. I was simply going for a good time and to escape a broken heart but I ended up falling in love all over again with Ibiza itself. There is so much more to Ibiza than what you witnessed on Ibiza Uncovered. The North of the Island is where you will find some of the most breathtaking scenery, the best wellness resorts in Europe and a laid back, bohemian lifestyle that you won’t ever want to leave and this is the inspiration behind By Terry’s Hippie Chic collection. As a child in the 70’s Terry spent her Summers holidaying in Ibiza during whats known today as “The Glamorous times” and this collection captures the style and vibe of Ibiza at that time, immaculately.
Why is it that I love By Terry so much? It’s a question people often ask when there is such a plethora of cosmetic brands in the beauty obsessed climate we currently find ourselves in. I met the ladies behind the brand at The Ivy Chelsea garden three years ago and I had no idea what to expect as we chatted over a mound of courgette fries about the history and inspiration behind the brand, they then handed me a bag of products to experience for myself, I gratefully accepted.
I couldn’t wait to get home and play with the different colours and textures, which I now know to be some of the best on the market. Their buttery soft powders, cashmere like foundations and forever over performing products improve and impress year on year, Hippie Chic collection was no different.
My all time favourite from the By Terry Summer collections is always their Sun Designer palettes and this year they produced two totally different yet wearable palettes, perfect for creating a summer look to suit the most Haute Bohemians amongst us.
Happy Sun is for golden goddess skin, comprised of bronzers, highlighters and blushes for blending and sculpt the most seamless radiant complexion. Whilst the Hippie Chic palette is the adventure, bringing bright and beautiful tones to enhance and compliment the natural glow from the Ibizan sun.
When I travel, foundation is rarely needed, instead I reach for bronzers and highlighters to enhance my skin, barely there eyes gives the look a more modern bohemian edge whilst the addition of the Twist on Lip in shade Peach & Tangerine brings vibrance and colour to the look transitioning seamlessly from Day-time beach to evening golden glam. Finish with a spritz of something coconutty.
Ad No-one does old Hollywood glamour quite like @santinni_london and this majestic wool coat demonstrates why. From its luxurious faux fur collar and cuffs that keep the frosty chill at bay, to its exquisite jeweller-made buttons (that I fell in love with and are available as earrings too) for me, it’s the perfect piece to wrap up in throughout winter.
