BooTea Review

14 Day TeaTox – c/o BooTea

As I stated when I first introduced health and fitness to my blog, you may think of me as your guinea pig. With that in mind I decided it was time to try a new tea tox. Many of you struggled to get your hands on the last one so I decided to go in search of a new one, this time closer to home. Please allow me to introduce you to BooTea and their 14 day Tea Tox from right here in the UK.

They Claim that their tea:

•    Increase your metabolism
•    Burn calories and convert food to energy
•    Burn fat & counteract fat storage
•    Regulate blood sugar levels
•    Assist in the digestion of food
•    Suppress appetite
•    Improve skin health
•    Improve quality of sleep
•    Cleanse & detoxify
•    Allow you to reach your health/weightloss goals
and that all their ingredients are pure, natural & preservative free.
Strong claims to say the least so I decided to put their tea to the test.
I started my day with one silky tea bag of DayTime Cleanse tea (it always tastes better from a silky tea bag am I right or am I right?) and for the first tea tox time EVER, genuinely enjoyed the taste. The most notable ingredient being the lemongrass.
Come night time I poured myself a mug of the Bedtime cleanse, they recommended doing this at the weekend as this tea induces a laxative effect (I’m sure that’s a mental image no one needs) but billy big bollocks over here didn’t listen. You can have my word that it works and we can leave it at that.
As always my goal is not about weightloss, more about the general cleansing, improved digestion and bloating. However, and I can’t say I noticed, rather a few of you had commented on some of my Instagram pictures that I’d lost weight during the time of my BooTea Cleanse. I’m not saying it was definitely down to it, but it seems a bit coincidental don’t you think?
I’d been experiencing some more bloating since being put on a new pill by my doctor and the tea was a welcomed relief from the effects of that.
The experience on a whole was actually rather enjoyable however I don’t think I would do the bed time cleanse again even if I did feel great afterwards. Once is enough, when purely for experience purposes. But considering the overall taste of the tea was so pleasant I’m slightly sad that my DayTime Cleanse is finished.
Have you tried BooTea? If you have please let me know what you thought of it in a comment below 🙂

I’ve really wanted to try this but definitely was curious as to the effect the night time cleanse would have. I too would have just gone for it – glad someone else can warn me about that! I like the idea of feeling less bloated etc. Think I will give it a whirl!

I’ve had it before and I loved it, the flavour is seriously scrummy isn’t it! And I felt it worked a bloody treat!
    Great review gorge! x

Great review – I found it left me feeling dehydrated, maybe a little dry mouth throughout the day? Didnt enjoy the taste of the bedtime cleanse either.
Is the daytime cleanse something you would consider continuing?

I’ve never tried a tea-tox, it’s something I would perhaps consider but am not always the best at drinking herbal/fruit teas so would worry that I’d spent money on a tea I might not drink much of!!

i have just started my bootea teatox and i am so impressed, i was very skeptical about this but thought sod it! £35 ish for a 28 one so that’s what i ordered, exactly the same i thought ‘laxative effect’ yeah right! its only a bit of peppermint tea.. oh how i was wrong.. but honestly i feel amazing! i feel light, not bloated at all energized and raring to go! i cannot wait to have my bedtime cleanse again tonight! as they are only every other night.. but the taste of both is lovely IF you enjoy peppermint tea or herbal teas.. 5/5!

I am over halfway through my 14 day tetox and as much as I really enjoy the taste of both the night and morning tea I haven’t noticed my skin improve and I haven’t lost any weight despite being on a calorie restricted diet. ( I have exercised a lot but don’t feel I could have built up enough muscle to mean my weight didn’t go down) however I have been sleeping well and haven’t had any adverse morning effects from the night tea that some of you are worried about 🙂 overall nice tea just left a tad disappointed so far with my results :/

I’m on day four and really enjoying it. As you said I didn’t take notice of the bedtime cleanse the first time you really have to judge what time to take it as it takes 8-9 hours haha especially if you have to go to work!

  11. Annabel Mitchell 11th May 2014 / 4:12 pm

how long does it take for the symptoms of the bed time cleanse to ease off?

  12. Anonymous 13th May 2014 / 10:50 pm

how much weight did you lose although it wasn’t your main priority?

I am on day six of the BooTea-tox. The first five days were almost horrific in digestion terms. I have never felt so poorly. However, I am very pleased to say however that after my third night tea-tox, all was well again. I do think that the reason I felt so awful in the beginning was that I did not follow the guidelines of cutting out meat and coffee. Although I had only one coffee and one serving of chicken, it does now seem a bit of a coincidence that shouldn’t be ignored that I am feeling much better after my night cleanse when I have not had either of these products.
Having said that, I aimed to lose about eight pounds (a rather large goal I admit) and thus far have noticed no changes other than feeling very very bloated. Hoping for better results as I enter week two!

Boo tea doesn’t seem to work on me… the bedtime cleanse does literally nothing. I think it’s just a scam I wouldn’t recommend buying it at all its a waste of money

How long roughly does it take for the night time clense to work

  16. Carys 17th April 2015 / 7:37 am

I have just started the bootea after hearing how good it is. So far had no affects from the nighttime cleanse but I think both teas taste reasonably nice. Can’t wait to see the results if any.
