Thank you for the inspiration Julia!
Honing in on summer dresses, here’s a selection of some of my latest loves…
I can’t seem to get enough of square necklines recently. There’s something so flattering about the way they sit… hence why I was immediately drawn to this square neck midi number. Available in plain white or black, it’s a summer staple that can be dressed up or down.
I have been so impressed with the white shirt dress that I ordered from Amazon a few months back that I jumped at the chance to order this belted version when it popped up on my screen a few days back. They’re the kind of dresses that look effortlessly chic when travelling (in fact, I wore this white Amazon dress on my recent trip to Baku) so I tend to stock up in multiple colours!
You know I’m in love with a dress when I choose to wear it for a photoshoot with Katie so this gingham number is up there with one of my all time favourite Amazon finds! (Said photos coming soon by the way!) Also available in blue and red, it’s the perfect dress for an alfresco lunch with friends.
If you’re looking for an ‘easy to throw on’ beach/ heat wave dress, I think I’ve found it in this strapless sage number. Also available in black – a chic choice too – it’s a perfect staple for those blistering hot days ahead.
If I lived by a fresh flower market dear reader, this would be my ‘Lydia goes to the flower market’ dress of choice! Paired with my Hermes sandals and Mini Kelly, it’s crying out to be accessorised with a bunch of fresh peonies and a croissant!
As for this olive green shirt dress, it made its grand debut on my Instagram stories the other day because I can already tell it’s going to become a weekly staple of mine. The perfect green to see you through multiple seasons, it’s such a flattering fit and works for multiple occasions. I’m just hoping they create an ankle length version soon too… hint hint Amazon!
David Austen, eat your heart out…! From the ruffles to the roses, this dress has my name all over it. It arrived the other day and I instantly put it on. Not only is it comfy but it’s guaranteed to keep you cool this summer – a dreamy addition to the English Country Grandmother wardrobe, if I do say so myself!
As for this chocolate brown number, the vintage square neckline won me over again! With a stretchy bust and floaty skirt, it’s a truly flattering fit that would look fabulous with a tan!
I absolutely love the shape of this dress… so much so that I’ve ordered it in multiple prints now. But this sky blue striped number is leading the pack. Guaranteed to keep you cool in this glorious sunshine, I’d pair this with my Manolo flats (or M&S alternatives) for ultimate summer style.
A slightly bolder choice from yours truly, this bright blue off the shoulder number instantly caught my eye. A guaranteed crowd pleaser if you’re heading for some sunshine, it has me dreaming about summer nights somewhere far away…
If you watch my Youtube channel regularly, you’ll have heard me speak about how much I love the shape of these tiered mini dresses from Amazon… In fact, I’ve got this dress in multiple colours now. Worn with my Jimmy Choo trainers, tan Manolo’s or M&S alternatives, it’s so easy to wear and is guaranteed to get compliments!
Finally, when in doubt, order the same dress in black right?! Though I tend to opt for white and colour in summer, the black version of the square neck dress at the top of this list, instantly found its way into my basket too!
