They don’t call it the festive season for nothing and for many, it is well under way. Diaries are filling up, the mulled wine is bubbling and theres a lot of ladies out there on the never ending hunt for the perfect party outfit.
When it comes to spending money on clothing I always tend to go with the cost per wear factor for justification
“How much wear will I get out of this?”
“How diverse is this item?”
“How long is it going to hang in my wardrobe unworn and unloved before I admit it was an error of judgement?”
So with that in mind accessories, shoes and outerwear generally tend to be where I spend the most of my wardrobe budget and party outfits tend to go up on the back burner. In reality though, our party wear is the one thing that we generally really want to really stand out, make a statement and push comfort zones with but there so many events a festivities in the pipe line, for me it isn’t viable to wear a different expensive outfit each time. So I look for runway inspired collections which can be worn a multitude of ways to really get the most out of my wardrobe.
The Premium High street changes the game when it comes to finding those special items without spending a fortune. Aside from the Premium high stores there are a number of collections launching. Missguided, whose current Campaign Star is none other than Badie Winkle, currently have a stunning Premium collection inspired by designers such as Balmain and Herve Leger. Meaning you are able to hone iconic styles and details for a fraction of the price, so all is not lost if you do only wear it for that one event.
But if wearing an item once simply isn’t in your wardrobe vocabulary, you can do some real savvy shopping and opt for items that can be worn a multitude of ways taking this Oh-so-Balmain Blazer dress from Missguided’s current Premium Collection. It can be worn as a statement dress with strappy gladiator heels for a real dressy event, or dressed down slightly and worn as a blazer over leather trousers. Two very wearable outfits in one.
A great way to get more for your money is to shop the sales, discounts and outlets of online and highstreet stores regularly to pick up the best items because, I mean, who doesn’t want to get more for their money? Many stores, especially online, have Outlet sections built in to their shopping experience or have regular discount codes for you to utilise for example, Missguided currently have 30% off full price clothing with the code “NAUGHTY30” making this Balmain inspired number a little more appealing.
