the paris press day with la redoute

8th June 2015
Last week I was back in my favourite City again, Paris for yet another flying visit. This time with La Redoute to attend their Press Day to get a first glimpse of whats to come next season. We arrived fairly early and checked in to the rather grand Hotel Westminister on Rue de la Paix. With some time to kill we set off on foot to explore a bit of the City but of course ended up at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, it’s like a giant magnet that draws you in no matter how many times you visit. After we’d walked until we started to get blisters we stopped of for some food and caught my very first Uber ever back to the hotel ready to dash across town to the Press Day. We arrived at the Press day which was situated in a light and airy gallery at the back of a quintessentially Parisienne Courtyard. As we walked through there were gorgeous displays from the La Redoute home collection from which I instantly inspired for my own home. So much sofa porn! Julia and I then explored the exclusive collections for AW15 and I genuinely couldn’t get over how perfect they were. The Collection from Coralie Marabelle for La Redoute was the one I found myself constantly returning to, even if just to touch the delicious nude fabrics. The collection infused simple lines with beautiful feminine colours and detailing, think perfect pleats. Obviously, I knew the moment I walked into the room where the beautiful lingerie collection from Louise Marnay was housed, I’d want it all. Stunning french lace and soft silks adorned the rail that I came very close to attempting to leave with. Once we had finished exploring the fruits of the coming seasons we were lead […]

Once we had finished exploring the fruits of the coming seasons we were lead to a studio situated at the back of the gallery to partake in a Photoshoot with vast numbers of other bloggers. We were given clothes that are perceived as in some way linked to each country in attendance which we each modelled in the shoot, including a wonderful group shot to finish.

In true Lydia style, I awoke before the birds to drag Julia out of bed and head into Paris before the crowds to shoot some bits for the blog. We found ourselves at Palais Royal and spend hours here enjoying the light slightly peculiar architecture before heading off to a quaint cafe new by for a croissant and Green tea to wake us up for our journey home.

It was magical as always Paris.
