Her name is Margot and I’ve never felt compelled to name a handbag before but my appreciation for her runs deep. She’s so imperfect and loved, with a story I wish she could tell me all about but I’ll just have to settle for the adventures we are going to have together

Drizzly, dark morning views over the walled garden at Hound Lodge with a cup of coffee and some fresh blooms to add a little brightness.

The frost has melted and it looks like we’re in for some wet, grey days ahead and these can be difficult to navigate. I think of these days as mini hibernations, I try not make too many elaborate plans, find cosy books to read or listen to, fill the living room with blankets, light the stove and order an extra tub of my favourite hot chocolate to see me through. I try not to fight against the inevitabilities of this weather, instead accepting it for what it is and making the most of it where possible. Another opportunity to slow down as we hit the ground running on 2023.
What do you do to see you through the dark grey days of mid-winter?

Nature is the best place to shop for home decor 🍂🪶

My mum is a grade 8 pianist and growing up we had a baby grand positioned not dissimilarly to this beautiful piece at @ashbymanorhouse in our family home.
When my parents divorced the piano was donated and I’ve always imagined one day I’d track it down, restore it to its glory and have it proudly positioned in my home. It seems unlikely I’d ever find her exact one but it’s definitely a dream to have one in my home for her to tinker on when she visits.
