my guide to the perfect natural looking highlighter

30th March 2016
Every year I fall in love with each of the seasons all over again, the warmth of evening sun on my skin in Summer, the bright frosty mornings of Autumn and the Magical white Winters, as if each is unexpected and new. Spring is the season where we emerge from under cashmere layers and cable knit throws, giving our skin it’s first taste of whats to come over the coming months. This is the month where we strip it all back to the basics of beautiful glowing skin with barely-there everything else. Highlighters have become an every day staple in make-up routines the world over but there are so many to choose from it’s difficult to know what is right for you. My own personal beauty style is very natural and understated at all times which means choosing the right highlighter with the right components can either make or break the finished look. So I’ve put together my top three highlighters to see you through Spring/Summer 2016 with the most natural glow possible. [lem_title]NEXT BEAUTY STARDUST GLOW[/lem_title] You might be as shocked as I am to see a product from the NEXT beauty line in this post but please don’t be fooled, their collection will pleasantly surprise you. As with every brand NEXT beauty has it’s hero products, and this highlighting chubby stick is one of many from the range. Giving a similar finish to the incredible Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate highlighter but without the fussy packaging or the cream contour you will never use, the Stardust Glow highlight fits in your bag and applies easily to the highest points of your face without moving your intricately applied foundation with it, all without a speck of glitter in sight. There simply cannot be a beauty piece from me without a mention of the stunning Parisian brand ByTerry. The brand that instantly stole my heart over brunch at The Ivy Kensington late last year. As we sat chatting and I listened intently to the incredibly passionate women behind the brand, I was practically blinded by the highlight bouncing light beautifully off in all directions from Albane’s cheek bones.

The ByTerry Sun Designer Palettes were inspired by Terry’s love of art and “Light & Tan Vibes” is home to three shades of exquisitely pigmented product perfect for a achieving a chiselled contour, Ibicencan glow and a Goddess worthy highlight. It’s price is in line with the incredibly luxe branding of ByTerry at £64 however it is a palette and houses 6 versatile and essential shades for emphasising and illuminating your skins natural golden tones throughout the warmer seasons. I don’t think I’ll ever love another quite like I do the Sun Designer Palette.

[lem_title]TOPSHOP GLOW POT[/lem_title]

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Topshop Glow pot in “Gleam” gives an almost like for like finish as the Becca Cosmetics “Champagne Pop” in a rose gold cream form and without the headache of tracking it down. The tiny pot goes an incredibly long way, less is more and best used at the hight of your Summer glow I absolutely love everything about this product and it’s golden dewy finish which is perfectly sized for popping in your Travel beauty kit. It even pops on bare skin to accentuate your tan on those make-up free days.

Ad Embarking on a journey of timeless treasures, my passion for antiquing began in the warmth of late summer 2019. When I discovered my father’s old boarding school tuck trunk nestled in the attic of their home. Since then, my weekends have unfolded like chapters in a novel, meandering through antiques emporiums and brocantes across the country.

Each trip unveils a tapestry of tales from bygone eras - from weathered pickling jars and vases to opulent French chandeliers and steamer trunks, and with each trip, I was captivated by the hidden secrets and untold histories woven into each artefact.

Introducing ‘Scented Mementos’ - an enchanting limited edition collection by @jomalonelondon Each fragrance, a symphony of memories, encapsulates the essence of cherished moments. Immerse yourself in the zesty allure of Emerald Thyme, or indulge in the spicy nostalgia of Ginger Beer, where notes of ginger, roasted oak, and cinnamon intertwine to evoke memories of British antiques markets.

Everything feels a little more optimistic as March begins don’t you think?
It’s the start of spring in my book Evergreen shortly followed by the spring equinox so there’s ample time to prepare, nest and refresh.
The light returns, hello March 🌱
There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad weather attire 💧
A little indulgence from my comfort of my own home thanks to INCREDIBLE @kmp_skin and @freshbeauty Ad
for the launch of the new Lotus Youth Preserve Resurfacing dream serum which is a gentle AHA serum with prickly pear flower extract said to boost radiance and it was so lovely to be treated to a first trial to get a very first impression of the serum thanks to KMP and her magic hands. I’ve literally never had a facial like it!
