5 items you need in your winter wardrobe

23th November 2015
I am on a constant mission to maximise my wardrobes efficiency. I want to buy timeless pieces which come around season after season rather than trend driven pieces that I’ll be selling within a matter of weeks. If I’m not sure on an item, not 100% sure it’s worth investing in or whether it will stand the test of time I’ll opt for a more budget friendly option like I found myself doing with my coated denim which have since been featured time and time again and only then invest in a higher quality option. The temperature plummeted on Saturday morning and I found myself reaching for a selection of items which I knew would keep me warm whilst also ensuring my style isn’t compromised by the many layers and I thought it was a great opportunity to share those items with you. Whenever I find myself in situations like the above I automatically reach for faux fur in any shape or form and luckily for us there are a wide variety of colours, textures and styles to fit any budget. You lose so much heat through the top of your head so naturally hats are everywhere  at this time of year and they come in a variety of styles to suit everyone. I picked up this luxurious fedora from Henri Bendel last week as they now offer World Wide shipping. The hat it’s self is the epitome of luxury with its ribboned brim and gold plaque and it arrived in the most stunning striped hat box making Henri Bendel products perfect for Chrismas with beautiful cashmere beanies and faux fur earmuffs that double as headphones they tick a number of my other Winter requirements too.

The more affordable, more flattering and more comfortable sister of the statement Leather trouser, the coated denim jean is an absolute must in my Winter wardrobe. Coated denim instantly transform a simple outfit to that of a much more luxurious look and feel. Adding zips and buckles can introduce a slightly more rock and roll edge.

Every Winter, without fail, the Chelsea boot style makes a come back across stores, from red soled Louboutins to velour Topshop additions this style of boots comes in many shapes, fabrics and styles to suit everyones wardrobe. I personally love a more gloss leathered finish to add a specialness to an outfit which can be lost when wearing flat shoes instead of heels.

Cashmere has become an absolute necessity in my wardrobe. I bought my first cashmere jumper a few months ago and once you experience the softness and warmth of it, it truly is a struggle to wear anything else at this time of year. As with all things that I choose to spend a little more money on, I opt for “Safe colours” to ensure as much wear as possible.

Ad Embarking on a journey of timeless treasures, my passion for antiquing began in the warmth of late summer 2019. When I discovered my father’s old boarding school tuck trunk nestled in the attic of their home. Since then, my weekends have unfolded like chapters in a novel, meandering through antiques emporiums and brocantes across the country.

Each trip unveils a tapestry of tales from bygone eras - from weathered pickling jars and vases to opulent French chandeliers and steamer trunks, and with each trip, I was captivated by the hidden secrets and untold histories woven into each artefact.

Introducing ‘Scented Mementos’ - an enchanting limited edition collection by @jomalonelondon Each fragrance, a symphony of memories, encapsulates the essence of cherished moments. Immerse yourself in the zesty allure of Emerald Thyme, or indulge in the spicy nostalgia of Ginger Beer, where notes of ginger, roasted oak, and cinnamon intertwine to evoke memories of British antiques markets.

Everything feels a little more optimistic as March begins don’t you think?
It’s the start of spring in my book Evergreen shortly followed by the spring equinox so there’s ample time to prepare, nest and refresh.
The light returns, hello March 🌱
There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad weather attire 💧
A little indulgence from my comfort of my own home thanks to INCREDIBLE @kmp_skin and @freshbeauty Ad
for the launch of the new Lotus Youth Preserve Resurfacing dream serum which is a gentle AHA serum with prickly pear flower extract said to boost radiance and it was so lovely to be treated to a first trial to get a very first impression of the serum thanks to KMP and her magic hands. I’ve literally never had a facial like it!
