my first ever facial @ qms medicosmetics, kings road.

30th March 2015
Yes you heard me right! Before now, I’d never had a facial. As someone whose idea of a weekend well spent is 2 nights at a luxury spa that must be quite surprising. But unfortunately it’s true, I’d always opt for a massage or similar when booking in for any additional treatments. Why? Well anyone that’s ever suffered with acne will be well aware that if it isn’t bad enough the thought of someone seeing your naked skin, touching it was a whole new ball game. Now despite being acne free for a year now it’s very difficult to lose that mind set that you lived with painfully for so long. However, after being invited to QMS Medicosmetics for a treatment, I thought now was the time to give it ago. I arrived at their flagship clinic just off The Kings road in central London. I was incredibly nervous and I think my therapist picked up on that immediately (I turn into a blabbering mess) and set about ensuring I had a nice cold glass of water and a sit down before my treatment. The clinic it’s self was just beautiful all white, chrome and clean with the products and beautiful fresh roses displayed in the entrance. My biggest issue with the whole thing was going home on the train from central London with no make up on. Pathetic I know but in my head It’s absolutely fine to run to the shops for some bread with no make up on, in your pyjamas & slippers. However, that’s definitely not OK in central. But my skin specialist (whose name I cannot remember through my nervous haze) assured me I would be pleasantly surprised. The products she used were incredible, you could actually feel them working on your face and breaking […]

The products she used were incredible, you could actually feel them working on your face and breaking down the dead skin cells. Throughout the treatment she talked me through each step and why it was beneficial to my skin. After a deep cleanse and exfoliation using fruit acids my favourite part began, the Algae. The mask is applied to your face (as seen above) at what feels like sub zero temperatures and as the mask warms and solidifies it helps refreshes and improves the skins moisture levels. Finally my skin was gently blown with the oxygen treatment containing hyaluronic acid.

As I dressed I caught site of myself in the mirror and I couldn’t believe the glow my complexion had. My biggest issue when going make up free these days is looking tired and unwell (Seriously, if one more person asks me if I’m feeling OK when going make up free) but I looked what can only be described as healthy and wide awake, my therapist was right, I needn’t have worried and I left the clinic with a new kind of confidence, one that no make up can recreate.

I’m thinking of trying some different facials are there any you would recommend?

If you would like to book in at for the same treatment at QMS Medicosmetics you can do so here.
